If I can make someone smile or perhaps get a smile on MY face when I open my mailbox (which not one day goes by that I don't HOPE to find something FUN popping out of my mailbox) then I think I've done my job and tried to make the world is a BETTER place by making just one person happy! Addresses are sometimes altered for protection so the overall visual of the envelope may or may not be the way it was.

Some more recent envelopes

This was done by one of my Summer Students, Juanda. I showed her
briefly how to do ONE flourish at the Demo during the UT CO OP fair
and she just took of!! Way to go, Juanda!

Created by Juanda... inside card... It looks like an Art Deco Gold Pen
and Prisma Colored pencils... very pretty!

Card created by Juanda... much prettier, even, in person!
If I am right, I think she used the FW acrylic inks that we got at the UT CO OP
art fair where we demo'd together last week.

Envelope by Holly... our current president of the guild.

Created by another one of my summer students... Linda.

Envelope I sent to friend, Yuki... for payment of a Christmas present!

From Elvia, another one of my Summer Students *Copperplate class* ...
Very cool and detailed ... she said she used the White, mechanical
Fons and Porter Pencil she got..... going crazy with it!  I just use
it for white guidelines on black paper.... LOL!

Back of Elvia's envelope... this is so fun to look at.
She housed it in a "clearbag" and sent it through the mail.
That way... the PO doesn't make a mess of your envelope.. just
the outside bag/envelope which is housing it.

Elvia's Thank you Card ... she's so sweet to thank me for helping
her with the class and other stuff... She was a student of mine
over ten years ago.

Back of Sandy's envelope... cool flourish....

My bud, Sandy, is soooo talented....

Trust me...... on this one, I had to alter the design substantially for
protection, but Sandy did an amazing job at lettering into a heart-shaped
form with the zip code in the center.... she is AMAZING!  By the way,
the stamp is one of Sandy's designs that she uploaded to Zazzle and it
coordinates with the theme and the envelope/writing so well!  It costs a
little more, but it's worth it sometimes to make a "statement".

Address altered for protection..... Of course, Sandy had to go to the
post office to get this envelope HAND CANCELLED and they
don't LOVE YOU for your "creativity" of putting the stamp in a
"weird" place... but afterall... Austin is KNOWN for being "weird"
("Keep Austin Weird" logo all over the place) ... so WHY NOT!!!!
I hope it got there!?

Address altered for protection, but Sandy did a great job
at reflecting the stamps in her colorful illustration of her flowers.

Envelope so adorable... but the stamp is "to die for"... found and purchased
at www.Zazzle.com  Very cool stamps there and you can even upload your own artwork....

This was so adorable, I had to share.... Calligrapher,
Barbara Calzolari... in Italy, send Sandy this.... I love her little
illustration of a gal holding up a banner which has the address on it.

This was a card and envelope which Sandy created.... address altered, of course...
but see how the hand made card and STAMP (purchased on Zazzle.com) coordinate soo well!

Whodathunk?? The USPS delivers....and July Bdays...

So, my dear friend Kate puts this in the mail... without my address
on it, but it does have her RETURN address *in an unconventional
area* with the word "FROM" clearly on the envelope.... well, the USPS
decides that it should be returned to her afterall....That is, UNLESS, they
saw the 44 cent stamp (it's 45 cents now, for those of you who use
Online banking and don't mail anything anymore)...read on...

But... that's clearly not the case because she puts it in another
envelope, this time with my address, and it gets to me... with a
44 cent stamp....Interesting!  Whodathunk!??

I had MANY July birthdays this year to send cards to
so I sort of did them all at the same time using the same
"inspiration" and idea....  Sorry if you see this
and realize yours wasn't the ONLY one of this design....
they all were  handmade and of course... all a little different....

It was written with Doc Martin's BleedProof white and then the
heart was a stencil in which I used pastels in different colors.
I had to use a fixative as it was rubbing off....
Address has been altered for protection of recipient!  I hope she
doesn't see it before she receives it as I mailed it today!  I maybe should
have waited to post this, but time is of the essence.

Time to pay my dues....
This was sent to Terry in Houston as my dues became due....
I got the color inspiration from the lovely little stamps which
the USPS has out right now... they are Forever stamps and I
think they are just darling.... Represented are: Nemo, Avengers,
Woody and his girlfriend, Bugs Life and Monsters, Inc.  SO colorful!!!

I turned a fat, multi-colored pencil on its side to write the big
letters, lined them with a black micron marker and then added
more color with other colored pencils to match the stamp even more.

My dear friend, Anita...

These were many envelopes of which my dear friend, Anita, has
received from myself and many other "pointed pen" friends in the guild.
This is her "inspiration" bulletin board in her studio... I had forgotten about
some of them... and of course... the NEW address is altered for her protection...
She moved so the old addressed envelopes are in tact.

Trish (ME) did this one

Sandy O. did this one....isn't it really cool!?

This is my version of Contemporary pointed Pen....

Sandy's color combination on this one is a winner! I love it!

Dee Day did this one....

Another version of my contemporary pointed pen

Sometimes THIS happens... actually quite often for me....

WHAT A MESS the USPS made of this envelope!!!

Clearly... you can see what NUMBER it is....
they sent it back saying "NO APT #"

Tyvek (paper) colored Card

Using Tyvek paper... the stuff that is like plastic and won't
tear, like paper does... you know, the envelopes that the
Post office uses...
Well, you can actually buy the paper for hobbies and crafts.
I painted this piece with acrylics and then hand lettering
the quote onto it with gouache.  It was a little difficult,
but it came out rather nice....

This was sent to someone I didn't know, but needed a lift...

This was sent to someone who was very ill at the time...
it was the best friend of a friend that I know.... It cheered her up, too!
WHEW!!!

Fritzi's 80th birthday....a few years back...

Envelope.. using dollar store sticker and then putting GLITTER on them....

Hand lettered with some psychedelic ink from VEGAS, Baby, Vegas!!

Hand made and folded card to house little gift cards, and what nots...

Birthday card to an old friend.... 2008
