If I can make someone smile or perhaps get a smile on MY face when I open my mailbox (which not one day goes by that I don't HOPE to find something FUN popping out of my mailbox) then I think I've done my job and tried to make the world is a BETTER place by making just one person happy! Addresses are sometimes altered for protection so the overall visual of the envelope may or may not be the way it was.

Another from Carol.... registration for my workshop in February

From Gabi with a beautiful picture of their new baby girl... Sofie Grace

White on Brown.. from Teri... beautiful!

My favorite of the season... from my bud... Sandy... soooo pretty!

more envies from Christmas

This was actually a THANK YOU card!

Christmas Envies

Using the Hot Foil Pen... I put red and green dots all over the name...
which was written with a "spent" red marker. I like their effect when
pretty dried out... couldn't achieve that with a nib...

The gold used was Dr. Martin's Copperplate Gold.. I love the raised look it has on the paper
You can actually feel it!
Kevin's nephew got married recently.. this is their first Christmas
card as a married couple!

Kind of a weird conjoining of the V and Z... I hope it was
readable by the USPS... we'll see!

Envelope with Trish Trash on it

TRISH TRASH!!!! Were you lucky enough to receive some this Christmas?

One of my students....

It's so nice to see one of my students "practially" using what I taught
her to "make her script her own"... She said she wanted to "Put a
smile on T.T.'s face"... It surely did!  Thanks!

From Juanda
Inside of the card!!!  Thanks Juanda... You are so thoughtful!

Jan, Teri and Sandy.... Thank you's!

It's always nice to get THANK YOU letters in the mail instead of BILLS!
This one was from Jan ... a calligraphy friend in Indiana.... whom I ordered a hot foil pen for!

My Bud, Sandy... again.... another lovely!  And another THANK YOU!
Always makes my day and puts a smile on my face!!!
This was a 12x12 scrapbook paper folded into itself to make an envelope.
The writing was on the inside part of the paper!

From my other bud, Teri!  We just celebrated her birthday in September.

Some more recent envelopes

This was done by one of my Summer Students, Juanda. I showed her
briefly how to do ONE flourish at the Demo during the UT CO OP fair
and she just took of!! Way to go, Juanda!

Created by Juanda... inside card... It looks like an Art Deco Gold Pen
and Prisma Colored pencils... very pretty!

Card created by Juanda... much prettier, even, in person!
If I am right, I think she used the FW acrylic inks that we got at the UT CO OP
art fair where we demo'd together last week.

Envelope by Holly... our current president of the guild.

Created by another one of my summer students... Linda.

Envelope I sent to friend, Yuki... for payment of a Christmas present!

From Elvia, another one of my Summer Students *Copperplate class* ...
Very cool and detailed ... she said she used the White, mechanical
Fons and Porter Pencil she got..... going crazy with it!  I just use
it for white guidelines on black paper.... LOL!

Back of Elvia's envelope... this is so fun to look at.
She housed it in a "clearbag" and sent it through the mail.
That way... the PO doesn't make a mess of your envelope.. just
the outside bag/envelope which is housing it.

Elvia's Thank you Card ... she's so sweet to thank me for helping
her with the class and other stuff... She was a student of mine
over ten years ago.

Back of Sandy's envelope... cool flourish....

Outside of Card....

Inside of Card

treasurer of CCS right now.... Loved this envie!

My bud, Sandy, is soooo talented....

Trust me...... on this one, I had to alter the design substantially for
protection, but Sandy did an amazing job at lettering into a heart-shaped
form with the zip code in the center.... she is AMAZING!  By the way,
the stamp is one of Sandy's designs that she uploaded to Zazzle and it
coordinates with the theme and the envelope/writing so well!  It costs a
little more, but it's worth it sometimes to make a "statement".

Address altered for protection..... Of course, Sandy had to go to the
post office to get this envelope HAND CANCELLED and they
don't LOVE YOU for your "creativity" of putting the stamp in a
"weird" place... but afterall... Austin is KNOWN for being "weird"
("Keep Austin Weird" logo all over the place) ... so WHY NOT!!!!
I hope it got there!?

Address altered for protection, but Sandy did a great job
at reflecting the stamps in her colorful illustration of her flowers.

Envelope so adorable... but the stamp is "to die for"... found and purchased
at www.Zazzle.com  Very cool stamps there and you can even upload your own artwork....

This was so adorable, I had to share.... Calligrapher,
Barbara Calzolari... in Italy, send Sandy this.... I love her little
illustration of a gal holding up a banner which has the address on it.

This was a card and envelope which Sandy created.... address altered, of course...
but see how the hand made card and STAMP (purchased on Zazzle.com) coordinate soo well!
